G.I.R.L.S. Advanced Leadership Institute provides progressive and innovative leadership development for 11th-12th grade girls who have completed a minimum of one year in the G.I.R.L.S. ™ Leadership Development Program. This eight-month dual-purpose program focuses intently on college readiness, community service as well as career and leadership development. G.I.R.L.S. ™  Advanced Leadership Institute is further designed to broaden girls’ knowledge and interest in technology fields, and help them develop the confidence to use technology tools, critical thinking and problem-solving skills in whatever profession they pursue. Through community service and leadership projects, girls learn to use technology in ways that are both motivating and compelling to them in a safe, girls-only, learning environment.  A maximum of 15 girls will be nominated to participate in the program. This small group learning cohort will have the opportunity to learn and directly apply vital leadership skills as imparted by notable leaders and subject matter experts including topics and activities such as:

  • Leadership Assessment and Coaching
  • Power & Influence of a Leader
  • Public speaking
  • Visioning & Goal setting
  • Managing Conflict
  • Career Roundtables
  • Studies of women in leadership; historical and current day
  • Diversity: Appreciating Differences

 

Pre-requisite: G.I.R.L.S.™ Leadership Development Program Nominations are accepted annually May-August from parents, teachers, mentors, and/or counselors.
